MR. BILL MURRAY
In our opinion, Bill Murray is the greatest comedy actor of our time, yet he’s much more than comedy! Bill Murray is a master of the dramatic role as well. He's a reclusive actor with a big heart; if you’d really like to get to know Bill Murray, we recommend you read his interview in Howard Stern’s latest book “Howard Stern Comes Again.” Bill Murray has starred in many great films, and here is a short list of our favorites!

“Quick Change”  (1990 Warner Bros.) Bill Murray, Geena Davis, Randy Quaid, Jason Robards, Tony Shalhoub, Gary Howard Klar, Kurtwood Smith, Susannah Bianchi. Available on Amazon Prime Video or Apple iTunes Store.
  • "Grimm" is our favorite role for Bill Murray! Quick Change is a must-see comedy; it’s brilliant, hilarious, and fun! Excellent performances from Bill Murray, Gena Davis, Randy Quaid, and Jason Robards; it also features an early appearance by Tony Shalhoub as the cab driver, ironically one year before his break-out role as “Antonio Scarpacci” the cab driver on “Wings.”

“Scrooged” (1988 Paramount Pictures) Bill Murray, Alfre Woodard, Karen Allen, John Forsythe, John Glover, Bobcat Goldthwait, Carol Kane, David Johansen, Robert Mitchum, John Murray, and Brian Doyle-Murray. Available on Amazon Prime Video or Apple iTunes Store.
  • Second only to “Die Hard” as the “best Christmas movie ever,” “Scrooged” has become an all-time holiday favorite, a “surf-stopper” whenever found on cable TV.  Be sure to enjoy this film during the holidays and look for our favorite bit, “Robert Goulet’s Cajun Christmas!”

“Lost in Translation” (2003 Focus Features) Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Giovanni Ribisi, Akiko Takeshita, Fumihiro Hayashi.  Available on Amazon Prime Video or Apple iTunes Store.
  • We love films about people, and “Lost in Translation” is one of our favorites! Nominated for four Oscars with one win (Best Original Screenplay for Sofia Coppola), Bill Murray was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (we feel he was robbed) “Lost in Translation” is another must-see film! For anyone who’s ever spent time in a foreign country where they didn’t speak the language, you’ll appreciate this film.

“Stripes” (1981 Columbia Pictures) Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, John Candy, Sean Young, P.J. Soles, Warren Oates, and John Larroquette. Available on Amazon Prime Video or Apple iTunes Store.
  • We thought we should go with “Ghostbusters,” which is a classic comedy, but we really love “Stripes”! Directed by Ivan Reitman, “Stripes” is early Bill Murray comedy at it’s best, witty sarcasm that makes you laugh out loud! Also featuring great performances by the late Harold Ramis and John Candy, Stripes is a comedy for the ages.

“St. Vincent” (2014 The Weinstein Company) Bill Murray, Mellisa McCarthy, Naomi Watts, Jaeden Martell, Chris O’ Dowd. Available on Amazon Prime Video or Apple iTunes Store.
  • Released as a late surprise in October of 2014, St. Vincent is a film that you must not miss!  The role of “Vincent MacKenna” is perfect for Bill Murray earning him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical. Excellent supporting performances by Melissa McCarthy and Jaeden Martell. Add “St. Vincent” to your watch list if you’ve not seen it!
